Skincare packaging for wholesale supply comes in many distinctive designs. As a supplier for many beauty and cosmetic companies worldwide, we decided to provide an essential guide to help any business with a new product range.
Skincare Packaging With Stock Products
When looking at a new skincare product range and defining the packaging product as a solution for your target market. You might be surprised that a product solution may already exist for your ideas. As hybrid packaging experts, we offer many existing products that can be purchased off the shelf. These include:
Stock products are perfect for testing liquid or solid solutions, checking for functionality, presenting for live customer testing and user group feedback. It’s a good idea to mix and match caps and dispensing solutions with bottles or test the brand logo and label for the final product. Bottles can also be transparent (PET) or white (HDPE) in colour depending on the material selected.
As a hybrid packaging specialist, we have a vast selection of skincare products that are assigned to a minimum order quantity (MOQ). Furthermore, the production and manufacturing of particular stand-alone products or sets must be pre-ordered as batches with an assigned MOQ.
Ordering samples of these products are perfect for testing before launch. Our skincare range includes:
- Cosmetics including lip gloss and mascara wands
- A wide range of caps and closures
- Pharmaceutical products
- Flexible tubes
- Acrylic jars and bottles
- Airless containers.
MOQs are important for the manufacturer, transport and warehouse logistics, final cost, and expected arrival time. If you are ordering small amounts or just starting with your business? We recommend using stock options. If you’re a medium-sized company, ordering large volumes should increase profit margins. Moreover, larger brands will have the budget for bespoke products and tooling.
When it comes to bespoke products for skincare products, a process needs to be established when creating the final package. Package design starts in the professional studio and will involve many stages. Concepts will turn from computer-aided design (CAD) into a test mould and then onto the final manufacturing stages of production.
Once the product is tested and ready for mass production, the logistics can be put into place for labelling, filling and transport.
Bespoke packaging comes at a higher cost because the mould for the manufacturing plant has to be made. This process is called tooling. However, once complete, the advantages outweigh the original costs if the product succeeds. Custom-made product development can take time from the start to the final concept. The journey can be rewarding, but solid market research should surround the customer target. The product should be trialled and tested before penetrating the awaiting audience.
Skincare packaging works well with a number of liquids, powders, creams, serums and gels. furthermore, these product solutions have a wide industry reach, covering:
- Personnel care
- Bath & shower
- Oral care
- Nutritional & travel
- Hand sanitation
- Soap dispensing
- Body care and deodorant.
Product Decoration Options
Beautiful and considered skincare packaging comes with an array of product decoration options. Applying colour, changing the cap neck design or manufacturing something new on the market comes under the medium/high MOQ & bespoke options. So, what options are available? Here is our simple decoration guide.
As packaging experts, we can colour match any bottle, cap, dispenser or jar. All we need is a product sample, image or pantone reference of the desired colour. Berlin Packaging UK can colour match the following:
- Plastic bottles
- Plastic jars
- Dispensing pumps.
HOT FOIL BLOCKING
This process involves adding a silver or gold metallic text to a surface. Simple designs can be printed directly onto the surface of a bottle or jar. Hot foil blocking is a process that uses metallic blocks with designs or lettering etched on the surface. These then get pressed against the foil to imprint the image. During the hot foil blocking procedure, the product is placed under a layer of the film and the metallic block. The hot foil machine then applies pressure and heat to the metallic block, which activates the film. Your design can be printed to create a metallic or matt finish. Hot foiling can be applied to the following products:
- Plastic bottles
- Plastic jars
SILK SCREEN PRINTING
Silk Screen Printing is typography and pictorial designs printed directly onto the surface of a bottle/jar for a clean, professional look at an affordable price. The printing method uses a screen composed of mesh and silk or artificial fibres stretched over a wooden frame. The design is made into a paper stencil and stuck onto the mesh. In order to produce the silk screening effect, ink is taken across the screen, and the pressure pushes the ink through the unstopped areas of the mesh. To get a multi-coloured print, several screens and passes are used.
- High quality and affordable
- Single or multi-pass printing
- Print on to plastic bottles and Jars.
This is our process for wrapping your designs completely around the dispensing pump or disc cap. Collar wrapping delivers a solid-state component whereby the procedure cannot be removed. The final effect is stunning. Uniqueness is guaranteed to ensure your product stands out from the crowd. The specialist knowledge required to create the ‘collar wrap’ also makes it perfect for companies that need to outsmart counterfeiters. Minimum of 20,000. We can offer collar wrap on:
- Disc caps
Metalisation takes a plastic product/product part and adds a metallic coating to the surface. A base lacquer coating is baked onto the components to start the process. These parts are then placed inside a vacuum chamber, and a charge is passed through tungsten filaments, which contain pure aluminium. This vaporises and coats the rotating product in a shiny chrome-like finish. Finally, a protective coating of lacquer is applied. The lacquer can be coloured to provide a range of beautiful metallic finishes, available in gold or silver and a matt or gloss finish. We can metalise the following:
- Plastic bottles
- Plastic jars
Anodic films can also be used for a number of our cosmetic packaging effects. This process means your products can be coloured or transparent and is popular because the finish looks luxurious and sophisticated. We can apply this process to many of our product ranges.
Embossing is a process that involves achieving a raised or sunken design on a metal surface. It is accomplished with a combination of heat and pressure on the metal. Two rollers (one with the image indented and the other with the same image protruding) are heated. The heated rollers are then applied with pressure to iron out the metal by raising the level of the image higher than the substrate to make it smooth. We can offer embossing on:
- Disc caps
Luxury Skincare Packaging
Skincare packaging can be in the form of high-end acrylic jars and bottles. These products are heavy in material and fall into the focus group of high price points. Acrylic packaging can look stunning, however, PP airless packaging can be decorated to look just as good.
